The focus of the programme for ICNASA 2019 was scientific and professional development, which aimed to develop the students’ skills for engaging with the world as mature scientists. We also ran student talks and poster presentations in which students introduced their latest research. In addition, lab tours were also conducted to provide the opportunity for researchers to interact and discuss the future collaborations.

With the generous support from more than 10 sponsors from industry as well as academic world, we are allowed to heavily subsidise the costs,  for accommodations, food and social events, which kept the conference registration fee low to make sure the conference was accessible and inclusive.

A focus of ICNASA 2019 was to have more interactive among the attendees as well as between the host, i.e., CTAM and all the presenters. This decision was motivated so the conference as a whole understands the speakers in aspects of their opinions in the technology development as well as translation in all related research fields. Therefore, interactive activities such as questionnaire and interview was conducted during the event.

The epic highlight of the conference was the grand opening of CTAM. With the engagement of 110 attendees, we were thrilled of the launch of the new centre which delivers innovative solutions in fundamental science and industrial applications. Several social events such as reception night, industry exhibition, conference dinner were also organized during the two-day conference to facilitate networking and build a welcoming and friendly atmosphere among attendees.
